Morning Mug
It is now 4am...and I've been up for 2 hours. Not really by choice.
A friend called - his vehicle broke down and he needed a ride.
Technically, he called the husband. But the husband is like Askhim, our purebred dorkcat, slow to wake. I am the insta-awake kinda gal. The husband? Not so much. He's more of the, 'I'm going to go to slee....<snore>' kinda guy.
Isn't that always the case? You either go to sleep fast/wake up hard, or you're like me and you need three pillows, four sheets, a foot out, and the stars to align properly before you can think about falling asleep....but you wake-up at the drop of a hat and are immediately on the move.
I'm not sure which would be better? Guess I'll never know!
But being awake two hours before I usually get up means my day just got longer.
Which means the possibility to get hungry faster became a real thing.
Do I eat breakfast now, and work in a snack before lunch?
Do I hold out and have breakfast at my usual time?
Do I up my calories and macronutrients for the day because I will expend more energy having two more hours unexpectedly incorporated into my day?
Hmmm...questions to ponder....
I'm sort of hungry now. Which is no surprise because I've been up for two hours, and it's getting closer to when I would usually eat breakfast (usually 0530) and I typically eat about an hour to an hour and a half after I wake.
Conundrum, I haz it.
I'm not sure the protocol on instances such as this.
So I will play it by body....that is, I will listen to my body.
If I feel I need to eat, I will. Macronutrient proportions be damned.
If I can get away with drinking extra coffee this morning, I will do that.
It's whatever I feel my body needs, that is what I will give it.
It may not be the 'right' thing according to experts but I am the only expert I need to listen to. It's my body, and I'm the only one that can hear what it's telling me.
All I know for sure is.... Day 8 will NOT start with Snickers. Not the edible kind, anyway. :)
